It has been announced that Channing Tatum will be joining Jonah Hill the upcoming 21 Jump Street film.
You might remember 21 Jump Street as a crime drama TV series which first aired back in 1987 and focused on a group of young undercover cops who investigated teen crime. It focused largely on prominent issues in the late eighties, such as drug abuse, AIDS and sexual promiscuity – great movie material, even twenty years later.
It might also ring bells as being the show which kick-started the acting career of one Mr Johnny Depp, as well as featuring a number of notable guest appearances from stars such as Brad Pitt, Vince Vaughn and Shannon Tweed.
Now the series is getting the big screen treatment, and will be directed by Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs‘ Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.
Not only will Tatum be starring in the film, but the Dear John actor will also be joining Hill as an executive producer on the film. Hill, of course, has experience producing, having worked on last year’s mockumentary film, Brüno.
Rumour has it that Depp himself is keen to make a cameo appearance. So, suffice to say, were pretty excited about the whole thing. We’ll keep you posted!
