Imagine a film about trolls. No, not the people who endlessly start flame wars on forums, but the mythical big scary things under bridges especially in Scandinavia. Now imagine people finding one while holding a camcorder. Then another, and another, and another, and another

troll hunter 300x200 Cloverfield goes Norwegian in Troll HunterIt’s an interesting concept, and although the trailer highlights that the Norwegian crew are, much like their American counterparts in Cloverfield and The Blair Witch Project before them, rather dense, the CGI work on the trolls in Troll Hunter is nothing short of astonishing. That’s what frustrated us here at the TFR Towers: it’s a monster movie – let us see the monsters!

And you will see them, and trust us, they see the camera. Some have more than one head, some are 20 feet tall, one was the size of an office skyscraper. They don’t like light (much like J.R.R. Tolkien‘s trolls in The Hobbit) as it tends to turn them to stone. Of course, sometimes subtitles tend to soften the blow of frantic dialogue in the wake of a troll attack, but you don’t need to be Norwegian to understand they’re bricking themselves.

Check out the trailer for Troll Hunter below and let us know what you think, and stay away from that bridge on the way home from work. You know which one we’re on about. Yeah. That one.
