Mirror mirror on the wall, who has the worst English accent of them all … still Dick Van Dyke. A longer trailer for Snow White and the Huntsman has just been released, complete with Kristen Stewart‘s English accent. And it doesn’t suck!
Universal released a teaser trailer late last year, mainly featuring Charlize Theron as the wicked Queen, giving us a mere glimpse of Ms Stewart as the central heroine. Now we have a better overview of the whole package, complete with the seven dwarfs!
Yes, the new trailer shows us Eddie Izzard, Ray Winstone, Ian McShane, Bob Hoskins, Eddie Marsan, Stephen Graham and Toby Jones as the seven dwarves. Only with real names this time. You’ll find no Grumpy, Sneezy or Dopey here. We also get a better sense of the Huntsman’s (played by Chris Hemsworth) character. It would appear he is Scottish in this adaptation, and trains Snow White to fight the Queen.
Meanwhile, in terms of Snow White’s English dialect in the trailer, we have to give Kristen some credit. She seems to have pulled it off. Her delivery of the line “I’ve seen what she sees. I can kill her” is pitch perfect. Perhaps it’s the influence of Pattinson?
The poor girl has had more than enough bad reviews for her acting in the last few years. The comments tend to alternate between a lack of facial expression, and overuse of hair scrunching. Perhaps people will start to give her a break now.
Other excitement in the action-packed trailer is the creepy dark forest, which may frighten you more than Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs, and Snow White’s risky escape from the castle before the wicked Queen “can consume her heart”.
Snow White and the Huntsman will be in UK cinemas from 1st June 2012.
