With the dagger-like teeth ripping apart human flesh and a powerful fin slicing through the water, watching Jaws was scary enough the first time around, but now the viscous man-eating shark is being re-released on Blu-Ray.
Stephen Spielberg’s Jaws has been fully remastered in stunning HD and will be available to buy from September 3rd. The special re-release will be loaded with brand new bonus content, plus it will be available as an UltraViolet Copy and a Digital Copy.
Film-fanatics will be able to instantly download or stream the content to a PC, Mac or a compatible mobile device.
The award-winning thriller, based on Peter Benchley’s novel of the same name, even includes a brand new 7.1 audio track.
The 1975 summer blockbuster – starring Roy Scheider (All That Jazz) and Robert Shaw (From Russia With Love) – is famed for its tense music score which evokes pure terror and edge-of-your-seat style suspense.
Upon its release, Jaws became the ‘highest-grossing film in history’; it is still among the highest grossing films in motion picture history.
It has become a cultural phenomenon which is often referenced in films today, not to mention having a ride based on the story featured in America’s Universal Studios.
When the seaside town of Amity finds itself under attack by a dangerous great white shark, it’s down to the town’s chief of police (Roy Scheider), a young marine biologist (Richard Dreyfuss) and a grizzled shark hunter (Robert Shaw) to destroy the man-eating beast and save the day.
