Arnold Schwarzenegger past hit is recalled

Another day, another remake… According to reports, the latest film from the archive to get a dusting off and make-over is Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 1990 classic Total Recall.
You might, er, recall that the original 2084-set sci-fi thriller saw the Governator playing a guy haunted by a recurring dream about travelling to Mars who gets tangled up with Sharon Stone.

Columbia Pictures snapped up the rights to the blockbuster based on the Philip K. Dick book earlier this year, and Equilibrium writer Kurt Wimmer is rumoured to be currently penning a new script for the remake.

Inside sources describe the upcoming version as a “contemporised adaptation”, according to The Hollywood Reporter, but there haven’t been any reports on who might be cast as the lead. Clearly not Arnie, who has enough on his plate right now.
