Canary Wharf Film Festival now open for submissions

Film festivals are so popular these days that even your gran’s living room probably hosts one. That’s not to say they’re not worthwhile though. Since tickets to the likes of Cannes are harder to come by than an English language Palm d’Or winner, the smaller festivals provide a great opportunity to view screenings of hidden treasures and hits of the future – not to mention a place to enter work yourself.
The latest to the calendar is the Canary Wharf Film Festival, which runs from 3-7 of September this year and will include a selection of award winning shorts from the worldwide festival stage with a spotlight on the cinema of Serbia. There’s also the usual workshops and Q&As you’d expect, as well as an award show (‘The Golden Canaries’) to close the event.

The chance to submit is now open, with the deadline for the earlybird ticket discount closing later this week. Visit www.cwff.org.uk for more information.
