The Silence of the Lambs tops best thriller poll

It’s been almost two decades since it stormed the box office and Oscars, but The Silence Of The Lambs is now reaping yet more glory after being been named Britain’s favourite thriller.
The adaptation of the bestselling novel by Thomas Harris scored 25 percent of the vote in a Yahoo! Movies poll, which was conducted to mark the release of new flick Anything For Her, out in UK cinemas today. For anyone wishing to put the memory of Buffalo Bill firmly in the past, let’s swiftly move on to second place, which went to Brad Pitt’s 1995 crime/horror Seven after landing 20 per cent. Gwyneth Paltrow’s head in a box clearly couldn’t compete with Hopkin’s human face mask, eh?

Stephen King’s The Shining was ranked third with 11 per cent, while the rest of the top five was rounded out by LA Confidential and Basic Instinct.

Anything missing from this top five? Which film would have got your vote?
