Actors do love repeat collaborations, don’t they? Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler, Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio. Not normally in as quicker succession as this though.

Jennifer Lawrence (X-Men: First Class) and Bradley Cooper’s (The A-Team) previous collaboration on David O Russell’s The Silver Lining Playbook, is barely in post-production and won’t be released until November this year, but already the two have signed for another film together.

Serena, which is based on the 2008 novel by Ron Rash, will see the pair as two over-ambitious newly-weds George and Serena Pemberton, who move to North Carolina in 1929 to build a timber empire. However, when Serena discovers she can’t have kids, she develops an unhealthy determination to kill George’s illegitimate son.

So, she’s ambitious and vicious? Gripping stuff.

The film was initially set to be directed by Darren Aronofsky back in 2010, with Angelina Jolie considering the role of Serena. Obviously those plans fell through and the project is now to be directed by Danish born, Susanne Bier.

Jennifer and Bradley’s previous collaboration, The Silver Linings Playbook is about a former teacher, who moves back in with his mother and attempts to reconcile with his ex-wife, having spent four years in a mental institution.

Bradley who was last seen in comedy sequel The Hangover Part II, will next be in Brian Klugman’s The Words opposite Olivia Wilde and Zoe Saldana.

Lawrence in the meantime has a small supporting role in indie Like Crazy which is currently playing in cinemas across the UK, before the release of the eagerly anticipated The Hunger Games in March.

The two companies have put their differences aside and have closed a deal with Spanish film maker, Francisco Gutiérrez (Before The Fall) to remake the film. Jesse Wigutow (Ugly Naked People, It Runs in the Family) will be writing the screenplay.

The gritty reboot of the psychological thriller will be produced by Edward R. Pressman (Bad Lieutenant, American Psycho) and Jeff Most (The Specialist) with Tucker Tooley – who helped direct Limitless – as executive producer.

The American classic – originally starring Brandon Lee who tragically died on set – was set to be directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later) and star The Hangover’s Bradley Cooper, but since the legal dispute over the film rights, both men have dropped out.

Cooper, who is also the star of the action-thriller Limitless , told Empire: ‘There weren’t even that many ups and downs. We were talking about doing it because of Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, I’m such a massive fan, and then the timing didn’t work out. He just dropped out of it also so I don’t know what they’re going to do.’

The horror thriller features the iconic character Eric Draven, who returns from the grave as The Crow in order to avenge his and his wife’s murder, so that his soul can rest. The original film – which is based on the comic book series by James O’Barr – had to be rewritten after Brandon Lee received an accidental gunshot on set. He later died in hospital.

There is no word on the casting or the release date yet but we will keep you posted with the latest news!

Filming was due to begin next month, but Legendary Pictures have postponed production so that the budget can be reduced. Apparently, the cost of the film had been creeping up past $120 million and the company are now trying to find ways they can reduce this number. However, while shooting has been delayed, everyone involved has stressed that this is not the end of the epic production. Legendary Pictures are hoping that they can fix the situation and get back on track as early as spring or summer of 2012.

The cast and crew have already been assembled for the Paradise Lost film, including Bradley Cooper (The Hangover, Limitless) to star as fallen angel Lucifer. Rufus Sewell (a Knight’s Tale, The Holiday) will play Samael, who sends the serpent to tempt Eve, played by Camilla Belle (The Lost World: Jurassic Park, 10,000 BC) and Casey Affleck (Good Will Hunting, Ocean’s Eleven) will portray the angel Gabriel. It is no surprise that this production has reached an unsurmountable budget, what with the vast perspectives required for the war between the angels and Lucifer’s battle with Archangel Michael. The setting will not be easy, seeing as the action of Paradise Lost takes place in Heaven, Hell and Eden.

It will be really interesting to see how this production ends up being shot, and whether they are indeed able to capture the epic’s true atmosphere and character. Will the characters speak in verse, the way Milton originally wrote it or will it be modernised into something that cannot hope to compare to the original? We will keep you updated with any developments! In the meantime lets hope Alex Proyas and co manage to “regain the blissful [director's] Seat” as quick as possible.

It’s been on the cards if screenwriters, Todd Phillips and Craig Mazin, would write a second sequel to the hit comedy film, but it has now been confirmed by the star himself, Bradley Cooper.

Cooper, who was named 2011′s Sexiest Man Alive by People Magazine, appeared on the The Graham Norton Show last weekend and claimed filming could begin late next year.

The Limitless star said, ‘I hope we’re going to start shooting in September, I know Todd Phillips is working on the script and the third film would close the trilogy’.

Cooper thinks the film will be set in L.A. and not adhere to the typical ‘Hangover’ structure.

However, back in June, Zach Galifianakis (who played oddball Alan Garner) told Rolling Stone that the third film would see his character being confined to a mental hospital, where Phil (Cooper) and Stu (Ed Helms) attempt to break him out.

He also told Rolling Stone that he was ‘getting fricking phone calls already’ regarding Part III.

The Hangover Part II topped the UK Box Office on its opening weekend, taking in a staggering £10m which beat the likes of Thor and Pirates of the Caribbean.

The third and final installation to the crude comedy saga is expected to be just as popular, but will it be a happy ending?

According to Mazin ‘the third movie ends with Doug staring at a row of crosses in a graveyard, it’s everyone – his wife, his family is dead, everybody from the first movie is dead. Somebody shows up and tells him his dog is dead’.

Who knows what we are to expect, but if it’s anything like its prequels, it’s guaranteed to be utter carnage.

Wiig does well to paint herself as an ‘everywomen’ – and not in the Sex and the City “shopping and cosmos” sense either. Her character, Annie, might not stand out from any other wedding-film-femme on paper: her cake business has gone bust and she’s caught in a relationship rut with a non-committal man, played like a true sleazeball by Mad Men‘s Jon Hamm.

But, thankfully, this film isn’t about cake, or men, or even really about weddings – hurrah! It is about the mish-mash of people that tend to be thrown together during life’s milestones, and the unlikely friendships which can (and often do) come out of such events.

Having said this, Bridesmaids isn’t one for girly clichés. There’s barely any sign of the groom, and certainly no Mr. Big – instead we’re given lovable IT Crowd-er Chris O’Dowd as an adorably awkward cop. Maya Rudolph plays the bride to be, and old friend Annie meets her nemesis in new friend Helen (played by Rose Byrne) as the pair vie for ‘best friend’ status. Other bridesmaids include the severely un-girlie and often uncomfortably crude, Megan, played by Melissa McCarthy, whilst sickeningly sweet newlywed Becca (Ellie Kemper) is cleverly pitched against the unhappily-married-with-kids, Rita (Wendi McLendon-Covey).

Bridesmaids generates much of its humour from stripping back the glossy charade of wedding magazines and glamorous engagement parties, and the peachy Hollywood representation of life in general that we’re so often subjected to on the big screen. The seemingly-perfect ‘new friend’ Helen is forced to grin and bear it as her stepsons make no attempt to disguise their hatred of her, while ‘old friend’ Annie is stuck living with super-weird siblings, played by deadpan pair, Matt Lucas (yes, him of Little Britain fame) and Rebel Wilson. It’s a relief to find that this script, which is co-written by Annie Mumolo and Wiig, combines comic reality with a touch of sympathy, but manages to go easy on the sentimental side of things.

Wiig might be better known in the US for her role on Saturday Night Live, but Bridesmaids is likely to place her in a good position to steal the crown from current comedy queen, Tina Fey, in the eyes of UK audiences at least. If you’ve been left feeling somewhat disillusioned by the rehashed, laddish humour which has masquerading as good film comedy of late (I’m looking at you, The Hangover Part II), then Bridesmaids is likely restore your faith in the laugh-out-loud genre.

Sure, the theatrical posters might feature a bunch of glammed up women in shiny pink dresses, but don’t be fooled. Produced by Apatow Productions, the people behind hit comedies such as Superbad and Knocked Up, this film is far from conventional chick flick material. There’s a lot more to Bridesmaids than meets the eye, and it’s not just one for the girls. Indeed, for any men currently trying to undo the damage done by Bradley Cooper & co., it’s one which I would certainly recommend.

Bridesmaids is released in the UK on 22nd June 2011.

Tattooist S. Victor Whitmill is suing the film’s producers for copying the image he designed tattooed on Mike Tyson’s face back in 2003. In the sequel to the 2009 smash hit the actor Ed Helms who plays Stu in the film wakes up after a big night drinking with a tattoo which appears to be almost identical to Tyson’s one.

Boxer Tyson also stars in the film, which is set in Bangkok this time. You may remember he had a part in the first film as well. There is no word about what the man himself has to say on the issue.

Whitmill’s lawyers are claiming the use of the tattoo is “reckless copyright infringement”, saying:

“Mr. Whitmill has never been asked for permission for, and has never consented to, the use, reproduction or creation of a derivative work based on his original tattoo,”

The case has opened a can of legal worms and raised questions about whether someone can own a piece of someone else’s body and if all forms of art can be copyrighted.

This isn’t the first time the question of tattoo ownership has come up, tattooist Louis Molloy kicked up a stink about how many of the tattoos he had designed and tattooed on David Beckham would appear in an advert he was involved in.

It’s up to the courts at this point to decide what effect this copied tattoo will have on the original and how much of it is actually reproduced. If it goes Whitmill’s way, an injunction could be put in place preventing its release this week. Do you think this all sounds a bit crazy or does Whitmill have a point?

The Hangover Part II is supposed to be released on May 26.

Yes, there is going to be a third in the series. Last night author of the novels Helen Fielding read the first pages of the third book to an excitable audience in London. After ten years we thought we’d be safe, but Fielding clearly saw the chance to cash in by writing a third diary.

Apparently Zellweger has agreed to be in the film but only on the condition that she doesn’t have to bulk up again. She famously put on weight for the first film, Bridget Jones’s Diary, lost it in a dramatic fashion and then piled it back on for the second, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason. All in the name of art.

Anyway it is thought that in the third film she will be skinny from the start, however there is talk that she will get pregnant. And guess who is the father? She doesn’t know! Classy. Cue a bumbling Colin Firth and the snooty Hugh Grant.

Newly crowned Oscar-winning Firth spoke about the films’ recently, saying :

“I don’t really want to be part of a perpetual franchise but we’re all getting so old! I think the idea of Mark and Daniel and Bridget in advanced stages of deterioration could be quite fun. We’re making a comedy after all.”

The plot at this point hasn’t been confirmed, so don’t hold your breath for the baby. It’s also not known if the film will even follow what happens in the diary.

We don’t know about you, but we think it might be time for Zellweger to hang up her gigantic pants and plummy British accent. (Although there is at least one group of women, the I wear Bridget Jones Pants and I dont care Facebook group, who disagree.)

The film is based on The Dark Fields, a novel by Alan Glynn, and tells the story of dishevelled aspiring writer, Eddie Morra, played by The Hangover‘s Bradley Cooper.

Eddie spends much of his time convincing others that he could be the Next Big Thing, and very little time actually writing. His life appears to be going nowhere, until he bumps into an old friend who tells him of a new wonder-drug, NZT.

As promised, the drug appears to allow Eddie to make full use of his brain, whereas most humans function using just 20%. He is able to learn a language, analyse complex data and, of course, finish his book in record time, becoming ‘the perfect version’ of himself.

He’s seemingly taken under the wing of Carl Van Loon, played by Robert De Niro, but the side effects of NZT begin to take their toll, and Eddie soon begins to question the truth about the mystery drug’s origin and purpose.

Bright Star‘s Abbie Cornish and London Boulevard‘s Anna Friel will also join the cast of this thriller, which certainly seems to be full of potential. In fact, you might know more about this film than you realised, as Cooper has been taking part in a spoof viral campaign for NZT in order promote the film for some time. Director Todd Phillips has confirmed that there is going to be a sequel for the hit comedy, but this time they are moving a little further a field than Las Vegas.

He said: “It takes place in Bangkok and LA. There’s gonna be some f*****-up surprises.”

And you’ll be pleased to now that Zach Galifiankis, Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms will all be returning. As will everyone’s favourite, Mr Chow.

However, Philips is well aware that sequels don’t always live up to their expectations, speaking about it, he said:

“I’m not delusional. I know what I’m up against. I saw Meet The Fockers. But we’re aiming high. It’s called The Hangover Part Two, you know.”

It has also been reported that Renee Zellweger is after a role in the movie. Maybe she can have a word with star of The Hangover, who’s also her boyfriend, Bradley Cooper to see if he can get her a part?

Better get the headache pills ready because hopefully this is going to be one hell of a hangover, Bangkok-style!
