We reported a while a go that the film, Greetings From Tim Buckley, was being made and that Robert Pattinson desperately wanted the role. It had even been reported that he had met with Jeff Buckley’s mother to discuss the role. There were also talks that James Franco was in line for the role. Now it appears that the fairly small time actor Badgeley has nabbed it.

Badgley is famous for his role in Gossip Girl and his one time relationship with co-star Blake Lively. He has also had parts here and there in films, such as Easy A and The Stepfather.

Speaking about the role he said:

“To play a man who was singularly gifted as an artist, greatly misunderstood & mythologized as a human being … It’s something very special and sacred. I’m going to give all I can to this project,”

The film will document the days up to Jeff’s breakthrough performance at a 1991 tribute concert to his father, Tim, who had abandoned him as a child and died of a drug overdose at the age of 28.

Jeff also died at an early age, 30, after drowning in the Wolf River when taking an impromptu swim fully clothed. His only recorded album Grace became hugely popular and his version of Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah is considered by many as one of the greatest and touching songs of all time.

Greetings From Tim Buckley, which is an independent project, will be directed by Dan Algrant. The project has been given permission from Tim Buckley’s estate. It will start shooting this August in New York.

I’ve got a lot of time for Pattinson, given that he’s a good actor and he’s able to switch between roles in serious films (Water for Elephants) and roles in far less-serious films (Twilight). He’s a darling of Hollywood, and currently dating Kristen Stewart, his co-star in the Twilight films. So why was he acting like a drunken fool?

Making bizarre jokey references to Twilight story-lines, and often swearing (one occasion in particular not caught by the censor, when he made it clear what his physical role was in Water for Elephants), he was laughing constantly and stumbling around, seemingly out of it. Even beau Steward hid her face due to the embarrassment of his behaviour, although she was encouraging when he darted across the room to plant a big one on Taylor Lautner, which has probably fuelled the fan flames for a decade or more.

Now, the MTV Movie Awards aren’t particularly mature, and we don’t normally highlight celebrity behaviour, but we’re R-Patz fans and it’d be a shame to see him throw a decent reputation away for the sake of a night of “being funny.” So hear this, Pattinson: we’re not impressed. Go to your room and think about what you did. And while you’re there, please write some decent jokes.

The image shows the Twilight star with co-star Sarah Gadon in what appears to be the back of a taxi. Pattinson is looking extremely dapper in a suit, with his unruly mane slicked back for a change, channelling the Don Draper look. We like.

Directed by the legendary David Cronenberg, Cosmopolis is an adaptation of the Don DeLillo novel which tells the story of a young multi-billionaire (Pattinson) who makes an odyssey across mid-town Manhattan to get a hair cut. The novel has a number of comparisons to James Joyce’s classic Ulysses, with which it shares being set over one day, as well as featuring the theme of father-son separation and a number of highly sexed women. Over the course of the day he manages to lose to his wealth, although we won’t tell you how as that will just spoil it.

Initially it was suggested that Colin Farrell and Marion Cotillard would star in the film, but Farrell had to step down in order to star in the remake of Total Recall. It has worked out well though, because super heartthrob R-Patz has taken the role and as you can see he’s living up to his good looks. Oh, and we’re sure he’ll be great acting in it as well. His co-star Gadon is pretty unknown but she sure is pretty don’t you think? It’s rumoured that R-patz and K-stew are on the rocks, so we’ll say watch this space for a future romance or at least rumours of a romance.

And I’m sure you’re all thinking why has an image been released so quickly, yes? Well the director’s daughter, Caitlin Cronenberg, is a photographer and took it upon herself to share the picture with us. Good work Caitlin, keep them coming!

However, we’re sure Twihards out there will be excited anyway as it’s the first glimpse of the two-part adaptation, the first of which is set to be released later this year.

There’s no sign of any of the main stars on the poster, or anyone for that matter. It’s literally just a scenic image of dawn. This first instalment is set to be a lot more steamy than ones in the past and previously released images show Bella and Edward in bed together. Bella undergoes two positive (for once), life-changing experiences in the film but things get a little complicated as the Quileute and the Volturi close in on the couple.

So what do you think of the poster below, is it a subtle teaser or a cop out?



However that’s not the exciting bit, the exciting bit is that the on/off, are they/aren’t they lovers R-Patz and K-Stew were finally caught smooching at the after party!

Pattinson attended the screening with Witherspoon who plays his love interest in the film. The pair have spent the past few weeks joking about their love scenes, with Witherspoon saying:

“He had a very runny nose. It wasn’t appealing. It wasn’t pleasant.”

And it seems Pattinson fell for another of his co-stars, other than Witherspoon – Thai the elephant, revealing that he cried on her last day on set and that:

“The first time I met Thai, I just got in her mouth. It just seemed like a good place to be!

“She had these huge lips and her teeth were all the way at the back so she just carried me.”

Awww. In the film he plays a veterinary student who abandons his studies after his parents are killed and joins a travelling circus as a vet, where he falls for Marlena Rosenbluth (Witherspoon) who unfortunately is married to a cruel animal trainer.

Anyway it seems he’s forgotten all about Thai already and has moved back to his Twilight co-star again. The pair recently finished working on the next two instalments, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Parts 1 and 2 which will be released at separate times.

Witherspoon’s love life is equally exciting at the moment, she married talent agent Jim Toth on March 26. Let’s just hope the movie can keep us as interested as their private lives can.

First up, the third and most revealing trailer yet for Water For Elephants has been released. And they just keep getting better, we can’t wait for the film now.

Water For Elephants tells the story of veterinary student Jacob Jankowski, played by our fave vampire Robert Pattinson, who joins a travelling circus during the Great Depression.
He falls in love with equestrian performer, Marlena (played by Reese Witherspoon), who is married to the abusive circus leader (Christoph Waltz) which causes some serious beef.
Anyway, this latest trailer focuses on the circus part of the story whereas the previous ones were more concerned with when Jacob was studying. There’s a nice bit with Witherspoon writhing around on a horse and some saucy looking bits of R-Patz and Da Spoon in the throes of passion.

On a lighter note a new trailer has surfaced for the Disney teen romp Prom and again it’s got us a little excited. The soundtrack sounds great so far. Our only qualm is that the trailer leaves very little for the actual film.

Prom is about, you guessed it, a prom and it follows a bunch of teens as they prepare for their big night, some more reluctantly than others. There’s no one particularly famous in it, at least not in the UK but that doesn’t stop it from looking extremely enjoyable.

The image shows the pair from Twilight, played by Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, on their honeymoon in Brazil about to finally consummate their relationship in the first instalment of Breaking Dawn.

It has been reported that the hotly anticipated scene took a whooping 12 hours to film. Speaking about it, director Bill Condon said:

“It’s one of the most anticipated scenes. I spent a tremendous amount of time thinking about it.

“The anticipation is part of it and you want to play with what people expect and maybe subvert it a little and surprise them.”

Look away now if you don’t know what happens after the marriage,  but for those of you who are mega fans or just don’t really care…

Soon after the wedding Bella finds herself pregnant with a half-human, half-vampire child.

The unborn child feeds on Bella’s blood while still in the womb, which eventually leads her to her death bed.

Edward has to decide whether to let human Bella go or to grant her wish and make her a vampire also. But what will he do? You’ll have to wait and see.

Breaking Dawn- Part One will be out in UK cinemas on November 18th.

Back in May last year it was announced that Colin Farrell would star alongside La Vie en Rose actress, Marion Cotillard, as well as Cinderella Man‘s Paul Giamatti in the upcoming film from Canadian director, David Cronenberg.

Cronenberg has written the screenplay for the film, which is based on a novel of the same name by Don DeLillo, who is also thought to be involved with the production. Cosmopolis tells the story of a fast-living billionaire, who manages to lose his fortune on international money markets, cheat on his wife and find himself the target of a couple of stalkers – all within the space of 24 hours.

However, it has now been announced that Farrell has dropped out of the project – possibly due to conflicting schedule commitments with the Total Recall reboot. Not to worry though – Pattinson is clearly as keen as ever to further himself from that troublesome Twilight stigma, and has happily stepped in to replace the Irishman in the film’s lead role.

R-Patz has also made a respectable dash for freedom in his upcoming film, Water for Elephants, which we can expect to see in cinemas in April…before he’s back to playing the nation’s favourite vampire in Breaking Dawn – Part 1 & 2.

It is yet to be confirmed whether the other previously named cast members will stay on for filming, but Cronenberg is certainly used to working with such big Hollywood names. Specialising in what is (apparently) known as ‘body horror’, he previously worked with Jude Law in his 1999 film eXistenZ, whilst Viggo Mortensen and Keira Knightley both star in his upcoming historical biopic, A Dangerous Method, which is due for release later this year.

Could Cosmopolis complete Pattinson’s transformation from quirky heart-throb to properly credible actor?! We can’t wait to find out!

A couple of weeks ago we brought to your attention the first pictures from this highly anticipated flick, and now we can sit back and enjoy an entire trailer for what is certainly looking to be a promising film.

Water for Elephants is based on the historical novel of the same name by Sara Gruen. Our favourite vampire has branched out to play veterinary student Jacob Jankowski, who joins a travelling circus during the Great Depression.

He meets the beautiful equestrian performer, Marlena (played by Reese Witherspoon), who he begins to fall in love with, despite the fact that she is married to the abusive animal trainer, August (Christoph Waltz).

The story of the film is re-told from the perspective of a much older Jacob, played by Into the Wild‘s Hal Holbrook, who reminisces from a nursing home, where he now lives, about the time he spent with the circus.

Water For Elephants comes from film director Francis Lawrence, whose slightly surprising past credits include the likes of Constantine and I Am Legend, so it looks like this could be new territory for both him and the lovely R-Patz. Although whether the love-triangle scenario and significant amounts of sexy smouldering that we’ve seen so far will help distance Pattinson from his Edward Cullen character remains to be proven…

Water For Elephants hits UK cinemas on 22nd April – it’s fair to say we’re a little bit excited.
