Andrea Riseborough has been confirmed to star in Welcome To The Punch, alongside James McAvoy.
Welcome To The Punch sees McAvoy take on the role of a detective, who goes into partnership with a criminal, played by Green Lantern‘s Mark Strong, in order to uncover a political conspiracy.
Eran Creevy, who wrote and directed the 2008 thriller Shifty, starring Riz Ahmed and Daniel Mays, is once again directing a script he’s written himself. He will also be joined by Shifty‘s producers, Rory Aitken and Ben Pugh.
Welcome To The Punch will comes from Ridley and Tony Scott’s ‘Scott Free’ production company, with financing from Worldview Entertainment.
Riseborough will play the film’s female lead, although little is else is known about her exact role in the production. The actress was critically acclaimed for her recent performances in the TV series The Devil’s Whore, as well as feature films such as Made in Dagenham and Brighton Rock. She’s expected to begin filming for this latest project next month, but you can catch her in Madonna‘s W.E., as well as Welsh film, Resistance, before the Welcome To The Punch hits the big screen.
