Angelina Jolie looked every inch the Hollywood star at the première of Salt last night.
Jolie walked the ‘black’ carpet in Leicester Square last night without Brad Pitt, who remained in Los Angeles shooting his latest film Moneyball, and of course looking after the couple’s large brood.
Wearing a loose pink and silver Amanda Wakeley dress, Jolie hid her infamous curves that have disappeared over the years. Jolie’s weight is a hot topic in the media as she appears to be shrinking before our very eyes. Last night was no exception – the parts of her body that were on display looked extremely thin.
The 35-year-old actress plays a CIA agent who goes on the run after a defector accuses her of being a Russian spy. So far the film has received pretty mixed reviews, but Jolie is already talking about doing a sequel.
She said: “I’d love to do a sequel. You never know if you’re going to get the chance, if audiences are going to love it. But particularly with this character, I think there is so much yet to explore in her life with her – with her family, with coming to terms with who she is in the end, because of the way it is set up, she could be anybody.”
None of Jolie’s co-stars, such as Liev Schreiber or Chiwetel Ejiofor attended the event. Instead she was joined by the best UK celebrities, well sort of – Kerry Katona, Joe McElderry and Leona Lewis.
But this didn’t put off Jolie, who said of herself and Brad: “We miss London…we love it here.”
When asked about the rumours that she is set to play Marilyn Monroe, with George Clooney playing Frank Sinatra, in an adaptation of Andrew O’Hagan’s The Life And Opinions Of Maf The Dog, And Of His Friend Marilyn Monroe, she neither confirmed or denied it.
Salt goes on general release tomorrow.
