Keanu Reeves has confirmed that Bill and Ted 3 has the green light. The script is completed at last! Like, awesome!
It has been over 20 years now since Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure and Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey graced our screens.
Featuring a pre-Matrix Keanu Reeves, the heros were two dim teenagers trying to pass their history class. They use a time machine (that is suspiciously Doctor Who-esque) to visit the famous people in their textbooks.
Awesome! I think we’ll be the judge of that though.
We have a script, a green light, and a star. So what is the plot going to be Mr Reeves? Sadly, this bogus dude remained tight lipped this time around, but he has given us hints before now. He told MTV last April:
“When we last got together, part of it was that Bill and Ted were supposed to have written the song that saved the world, and it hasn’t happened. So they’ve now become kind of possessed by trying to do that. Then there’s an element of time and they have to go back.”
Sounds pretty good to us, if a little vague.
In the name of time machines, are there to be any other random sequels to come out in the next few years? Back to the Future 4 perhaps?
We hope the new Bill and Ted at least has Alex Winter (the Bill to Keanu’s Ted) reprise his role too.
