Colin Firth, Tilda Swinton and Quentin Tarantino are just some of the celebrities who have given exclusive interviews for BAFTA’s  inspirational new student help website Guru.

The BAFTA Guru website aims to provide advice and inspiration to budding young directors and actors, by giving them a unique insight into a career related to the film, television and games industries.

To celebrate the launch, the annual David Lean Lecture (given by ‘monster of doc’, Errol Morris) will be streamed live on the Guru site on Sunday November 6 at 8pm (GMT).

The new website – aimed at people aged between 18 and 30 – will contain editorial blogs, a large archive of interviews, lectures, master-classes and debates. It will also have advice and interviews from experts working for film, television and video games companies.

Accomplished actors and directors will be interviewed about how they made it big in the film and television industry, as well as offering their own advice. These interviews will be available to watch on the Guru site.

Head of Learning and Events, Tim Hunter said: “BAFTA Guru is an exciting new development for the Academy. It takes our Learning & Events programme to a wider audience and will allow the amazing roster of industry experts who we meet through our membership and Awards to support the next generation of practitioners. For the first time ever, we are live streaming our David Lean Lecture with Errol Morris, to an international audience.”
