More news from the upcoming Bond film has been trickling in and this time it’s regarding the villain (apparently).

Spanish actor Javier Bardem has reportedly been offered a role in the latest Bond film, and rumours are leaning towards him being the villain.

It’s been quite the year for Bardem so far: first his wife, the beautiful Penelope Cruz, has given birth to their first child, then he was nominated for an Oscar for his role in Biutiful, and to cap it all he’s been offered a part in everyone’s favourite Bond.

The question is whether he’ll actually take the role, in the past he was offered the part of the villain in Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps but turned it down and he’s is also reportedly taking a lead role in the adaptation of Stephen King’s fantasy The Dark Tower, so will he have time for both?

It has also been confirmed in the last few days that Dame Judi Dench will indeed be reprising her role as M in Bond 23, which is to be directed by Sam Mendes.

However when asked about the film she said:

“Yes, I can’t tell you anything at all! Nothing… my lips are sealed. ”

She did reveal what she likes about being part of the famous franchise:

“You get to work with Daniel Craig. You get to go on location if you are very lucky and you get to wear a few sharp suits.”

Yup, that does sound pretty good, doesn’t it? To learn more about Bond at The Film Review, take a look here.
