Apparently the pair are the number one choice for a film adaptation of the memoir Here’s What We’ll Say: Growing Up, Coming Out, and the U.S. Air Force, written by Reichen Lehmkuhl.
Lehmkuhl is known for winning the US reality show game The Amazing Race and for being a former Air Force officer, as a gay man under the Don’t Tell, Don’t Ask policy of the US military, which is the subject of his book.
The project is yet to have funding and a director has not been picked at this stage. The rights to the book were brought by producer Lalo Vasquez and his colleagues with their own money because they wanted to create something that was more than just a make- believe story.
Speaking about the project, Vasquez said: “Reichen’s story is definitely the through line of the movie. We just wanted to open it up so it speaks to everyone and not just someone interested in the book. We believe that it has a huge canvas.”
Lehmkuhl will work as a producer on the film and is working closely with the writer.
So, if Twilight star Lautner and Gossip Girl actor Crawford are going to be in the film, will they be playing gay lovers? Lets hope so.
