Sofia Coppola’s latest film Somewhere wowed the audience at the Venice Film Festival last night.
This is the first time the Lost in Translation director has chosen Italy as the place the film will open.
The film staring Stephen Dorff and Elle Fanning tells the story of Johnny Marco (Dorff) who is a Hollywood bad boy, living it up at the Chateau Marmont. After an unexpected visit from his 11-year-old daughter (Fanning), he is forced to re-examine his life and make a some changes.
The film is set in both Los Angeles and Italy, which is maybe why she choose to screen it there first. She is also the daughter of famous director Francis Coppola, an Italian- American.
The film will not be released in UK cinemas until 4 March 2011. If you can’t wait that long, take a look at the trailer.
