Check it out! Despicable Me 2 teaser and poster

We love minions! We can give you an exclusive look at impending release, Despicable Me 2. Well, the teaser trailer at least.

Despicable Me is back in part 2!

Despicable Me 2 isn’t due out until the summer of 2013, but why not get the promotional ball rolling now? Universal have been very crafty though, because we don’t actually get any footage of the film!

Not a scrap. The trailer, if you can call it that, is a 50 second minion-style rendition of The Beach Boys’ favourite, Barbara Ann. No hints to the plot, no look at new characters, no new dialogue.

And yet it has done its job. We are eager for more.

We love minions! Despicable Me 2 posterThe original Despicable Me, released in 2010 revolved around Gru (Steve Carrell), a criminal mastermind who adopts a trio of orphan girls, so he can use them in his scheme to shrink the moon. However, he doesn’t anticipate his developing paternal feelings towards the three. Bless.

What do we know about part two? The original team are back on board, including the writers: Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio, and directors Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud. The film will also feature the vocal talents of Steve Carrell (The Office US), Al Pacino and Jason Segel (Forgetting Sarah Marshall).

WARNING: Watching this teaser will result in Barbara Ann playing on loop in your head for hours on end. It will also make you smile, so if you are determined to be in a bad mood, click away.

The film is due for release in the UK on the 28th June 2013.
