Director Arjun Rose has confirmed that he thinks singer-songwriter, Tulisa Contostavlos, could make it big as a film actress.
Tulisa has continued to rise to fame since making her name as the female singer in British hip hop group, N-Dubz. Not only has she recently become an X Factor judge, but she’s also starring in the upcoming British slasher film, Demons Never Die.
Arjun Rose has both written and directed the film, which also stars Killing Bono‘s Robert Sheehan, Dead Man Running‘s Ashley Walters and radio presenter, Reggie Yates. Despite the fact that Tulisa had not previously appeared on the big screen (aside from a small role as herself in Big Fat Gypsy Gangster), Rose has described her performance as ‘captivating’, and reportedly stated that “she’s got a great potential career, should she choose to, in the acting world.”
Tulisa’s role in Demons Never Die is said to have been originally inspired by Drew Barrymore’s cameo in Wes Craven‘s Scream, although this was expanded after she requested a larger role in the film.
Tulisa has gained some prior experience by appearing in three series of TV programmeDubplate Drama, along with her N-Dubz bandmates, in which viewers voted to decide the outcome of each episode. Could she be headed for a career as a film star? We’ll keep you posted!
Demons Never Die is due for release within the UK on 28th October.
