The first teaser trailer for The Inbetweeners film has finally been released!
Whilst relatively little has been revealed about the big screen adaptation of the hit E4 sitcom, there has certainly been much anticipation surrounding the film.
The teaser confirms what was first revealed back in February – that the movie will centre around a lads holiday to Malia. It is also more than likely that this is the thirty second sequence filmed on Malia’s infamous club strip which cast members talked about during an interview with Alan Carr on his Chatty Man show.
Simon Bird, James Buckley, Blake Harrison and Joe Thomas will reprise their roles as Will, Jay, Neil and Simon, respectively, and will be teaming up with a group of four girls, providing a love interest for each of them.
Other characters from The Inbetweeners TV show who are thought to be making an appearance include Simon’s long-term crush Carli D’Amato (Emily Head), Will’s attractive mother (Belinda Stewart-Wilson) and head of the school sixth-form, Mr. Gilbert (Greg Davies).
While plot details are yet to be confirmed, rumour has it that the film will involve much of the lads’ usual shenanigans, including a disastrous attempt at skinny-dipping, a rendezvous between Neil and his junior school dinner lady, Will getting sunburn in the shape of a penis, and all the boys deciding to down ‘suicide shots’ of tequila.
The script for the film has been penned by the series’ writers, Damon Beesley and Iain Morris, and will be directed by the show’s director, Ben Palmer.
The Inbetweeners film is scheduled to hit UK cinemas on 19 August 2011 – check out the teaser trailer below!
