Kirsten Dunst is set to reunite with her Elizabethtown co-star, Orlando Bloom, in upcoming financial thriller, Cities.
Cities comes from director Roger Donaldson, who also co-wrote the film along with Glenn Wilhide, and is set across three separate locations. Slumdog Millionaire‘s Anil Kapoor is already on board to play a corrupt policeman in the city of Mumbai, while Clive Owen has also been confirmed to star in the film, taking on the role of New York-based hedge fund manager, keen to get his hands on as much money, sex and power as possible.
Now it has been announced that Dunst and Bloom are both tipped to join the cast, playing a young London couple who are attempting to get on the property ladder. The pair were last seen together on screen in Cameron Crowe’s 2005 comedy drama, Elizabethtown, and despite the fact that that film was not particularly well-received, it appears that Cities will give them another opportunity to win over audiences as a couple. While exact plot details have not been revealed, the stories taking place in each city are reported to intertwine, resulting in something of a ‘cautionary tale’ revolving around the themes of wealth and greed.
Dunst in currently enjoying the success of her critically acclaimed starring role in Lars von Trier’s apocalyptic science fiction flick, Melancholia, while Bloom can be seen appearing as the Duke of Buckingham in Paul W. S. Anderson’s The Three Musketeers.
Donaldson’s next film, Justice, stars Nicolas Cage, January Jones and Guy Pearce, and hits UK cinemas on 18th November this year, while Cities is not expected to reach our screens until 2012.
