One of the best mainstream science-fiction series, Men in Black, has returned, and we’ve got a trailer to show you.
UPDATE: There’s now a second trailer, below the first! Enjoy!
There are so many good things to say about the previous two films that I don’t know where to start. The pairing of Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. The concept of a government agency meant to regulate alien activity on Earth. The memory wiping. The crazy technology. The black humour.
The third film is close at hand, and involves, from what I can tell, J discovering that all of a sudden, K no longer lives in the present day, and has been dead for forty years. My prediction is J’s in an alternate dimension. Using a time-machine, he then goes back four decades to stop K from dying.
If you can put aside the gaping plot hole that is K being dead (as without K, J would never have heard of, let alone work for, the Men in Back), it should make for interesting watching. Josh Brolin (No Country for Old Men) plays a younger K (usually played by Jones), and Flight of the Conchords star Jemaine Clement appears as a villain.
It’s an odd series to explain and never sounds as good on paper, so I’ll let the trailer do the talking. Enjoy!
