Get ready, it’s time to meet the American version of Lisbeth Salander. Some of you may have caught a glimpse of a leaked trailer for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo over the weekend but now an official and more toned-down version has been released.
This is the second version of the film to be released. The first version was a Swedish language adaptation of the first book in the Stieg Larsson trilogy. This one is American and directed by The Social Network‘s David Fincher. It stars Daniel Craig as Mikael Blomkvist and relative unknown Rooney Mara as the protagonist Lisbeth.
There has been lots of debate over the need for an American remake of the film, however looking at the trailer it kind of looks like it’s worth it. What do you think?
For those of you who have missed out on the Millennium series phenomena we’ll fill you in quickly. The books were written by the Swedish author Larsson who died before the books were published. The first book follows a journalist as he searches for a woman who has been missing or dead for forty years. He is helped in his search by a young female hacker, Lisbeth.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo will be released on December 26 2011.
Check out the trailer below. Also listen out for the song it’s set against, it’s a cover version of Led Zeppelin’s Immigrant Song by Trent Reznor and Karen O and we love it!
