The stars came out for Girl with the Dragon Tattoo première

The violent and twisted murder mystery film, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, premièred last night at London’s Leicester Square Theatre.

Despite the rain and the cold, the stars of the film, Daniel Craig, Rooney Mara and Stellan Skarsgard, happily walked the red carpet last night to greet their fans.

Roony Mara (The Social Network) plays the highly intelligent, yet disturbed Lisbeth Salander, who is normally seen wearing quirky, punk clothes to match her piercings and tattoos.

Contrary to her on-screen character, 26-year-old Mara showed off her curves in an elegant and feminine backless, white dress.

However her co-star, Craig, wasn’t quite manly enough to stand the cold and kept his thick leather jacket on over his smart suit.

The James Bond heart-throb plays Mikael Blomkvist, a journalist who is sent to investigate an unsolved murder.

Stellan Skarsgård (ThorAngels and Demons) plays Martian Vanger, one of the many suspects in the murder mystery movie.

The Hollywood feature is an adaptation of the 2009 Swedish film which was based on the Millennium trilogy books written by Stieg Larsson.

Director, David Fincher, did not want to soften the thrilling and violent plot, which forced the film to an 18 rating.

The Swedish adaptations starred Michael Nyqvist (Blomkvist) and Noomi Rapace (Salander).

The film has even inspired a specially designed range of clothes to be released in H&M. The outfits have been based around the punk style of computer hacker, Lisbeth Salander.

Fashion fanatics can now buy studded boots, leather jackets, baggy shirts and thick black belts, to get the ‘Salander look’.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo comes to cinemas on Boxing Day.
