For his new film Get Him to the Greek Russell Brand is once more starring as Aldous Snow, the rock star first seen in Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
The new movie isn’t exactly a sequel, but is being sold as a spin-off from Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Jonah Hill (above left) plays Aaron Green, a young music intern at a record company, whose job it is to go to London and escort the great rock legend Aldous Snow to Los Angeles where he is due to start his world tour.
The title might not make much sense in the UK, but it isn’t so strange when you know that ‘the Greek’ refers to a famous Greek Theater in LA where Aldous is to perform, rather than a person hailing from the cradle of European civilisation.
Getting someone on a plane might not sound like hard work, but rock n’ rollers are like naughty puppies that rarely do what they’re told.
Aldous Snow has one thing on his mind: fun. So, his young minder has a job on his hands.
The film, produced by Judd Apatow, has had good reviews. The critics have referred to its rowdy, rude, and ridiculous humour. Brand even manages to bring a little sorrow to his character’s OTT exuberance.
