Schwartzman to star in new Wes Anderson

Listen up! Exciting news on Wes Anderson’s latest project. Jason Schwartzman who famously played Max Fischer in Anderson’s Rushmore, has signed up to star in it.

We’ve known about the film, Moonrise Kingdom, since last November but the cast wasn’t confirmed until now. Alongside Schwartzman, there are some other big name favourites, including Ed Norton, Frances McDormand, Bruce Willis, Tilda Swinton and of course Bill Murray, because it wouldn’t be a Wes Anderson film without him, would it?

Schwartzman has become a bit of a regular in Anderson films himself, first there was Rushmore, then The Darjeeling Limited and most recently he voiced a character in The Fantastic Mr. Fox.

We don’t know as yet what his role will be in Moonrise Kingdom. What we do know is that the story, written by Anderson and Roman Coppola,  is about two young adults living in a New England town who fall in love and decide to run away. The townspeople decide they have disappeared, so go in search of them.

It has been reported that Norton is a scout leader who leads a search with the scouts. Willis is apparently going to play the town sheriff, who is also having an affair with the missing girl’s mother. It is thought that Murray will be playing the girl’s father. So, will Schwartzman be playing the girl’s boyfirend?

It’s looking promising, isn’t it? Filming should be starting soon in Rhode Island, so hopefully we’ll have some more information for you soon.
