Sigourney Weaver won’t be revisiting the past

Sigourney Weaver certainly isn’t in a very nostalgic mood… Not only has the actress just rebuffed a role in the second Ghostbusters sequel, but she’s also ruled out making a return to Ridley Scott’s Alien film franchise…
Her onscreen alter ego Ellen Ripley died in the third Alien film, but Weaver still returned for 1997’s Aliens Resurrection, giving fans hope that she’d resurface again in a prequel. However, she told TVSquad.com that she doesn’t “think that Ripley could appear in an Alien prequel “because she doesn’t have any access to the creature until the first Alien,” before adding that she wouldn’t be making an appearance in Ghostbusters either.

“I think they’re trying to create something new completely with the Ghostbusters, although I know Bill [Murray] is in it. I don’t expect to have anything to do with it, although I wish them well.”

Only original screenplays for Ms Weaver from now on then…
