It’s only one week to go until the cinema comes alive with dance once again and this time it’s in the form of Step Up 3D.
This is the third instalment from the Step Up series of films, first there was Step Up, then there was Step Up 2: The Streets and now two years on we have Step Up 3D.
After the success of the British Street Dance 3D, it is not surprising the Americans have jumped, or should I say danced, onto the band wagon as well.
The film is directed by Jon Chu, who also worked on the second one. It tells the story of a group of New York street dancers who team up with a NYU freshman, Moose, played by Sevani who was in the second film. They end up in a dance battle against the world’s best hip hop dancers and take part in an epic show-down.
Sounds a bit familiar doesn’t? Despite the slightly obvious story line, critics have praised the excellent use of 3D and the amazing dance moves that feature in it. There are also a lot of hot, topless male dancers.
So what do you think? Do you think it will put Street Dance 3D to shame or will it not be as good? I, for one, will definitely be watching it as I love a bit of hip hop dancing and you can’t go wrong with 3D, can you?
Step Up 3D will be in UK cinemas from August 6th. Check out the trailer below.
