British thriller – Piggy – is released in May

If you were hoping for a light-hearted sequel to Babe or a behind-the-scenes documentary about Miss Piggy, then think again. This British film is a cold and violent thriller which will send shivers down your spine, and that’s just from the trailer.

The twisted horror stars Scottish actor Martin Compston (Red Mist , Monarch of the Glen) who is turned into a revengeful, cold-blooded killer after his brother is murdered.
The London-based horror sees well-mannered young Joe (Compston) being dragged into a murky underworld of torture and violence by a strange man named simply Piggy, played by PaulAnderson (Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows).

After his brother is murdered, Piggy helps Joe find his way again. This strange man – one of his brother’s friends – helps Joe to cope with his grief and they soon become close friends. However, Piggy convinces Joe to get revenge on his brother’s killers and ends up dragging him into a dangerous world of violence and revenge. When his life collapses around him and he begins to question who Piggy really is,  Joe finally confronts his mentor which leads to a disastrous climax. It’s all made even freakier by the pig snouts the killers wear because ‘it’s the last thing [the victims] will see before they die’.

The DP Films production – which also stars Louise Dylan, Roland Manookian, Neil Maskell and Peter Ferdinando – has been written and directed by Kieron Hawkes (Turnout, Shitkicker).
