Eric Bana rumoured to be keen on Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter seems set to be one of the most hotly-anticipated adaptations in the last few years, and it seems Eric Bana is rather keen on getting involved.

With the other Abraham Lincoln film (a serious one this time, honest) starring Daniel Day Lewis (Gangs of New York, There Will Be Blood) and directed by Steven Spielberg in the works, you can only hope that both films release around the same time for the social experiment that will form as a result: do you choose history, or hysterics?

Personally, we’re all for history, and vampire hunters. It’s a tough one, folks. But the interest of Bana (Munich, Black Hawk Down, Troy, Hulk) is definitely a big plus for the rather odd take on the great President’s life and times. Although his role isn’t confirmed yet, he’s meeting with director Timur Bekmambetov and he’s really going to go for it.

Some have pointed out the actor and the former POTUS‘ height matches – 6′ 3″ and 6’ 4″ respectively – but it’s worth suggesting that height is little object in today’s film industry. CGI helps, and the fact that Andrew Garfield, well into six foot, is playing the famously tiny Spider-Man only serves to reinforce this. More news as it comes on the big man wanting to play the big man – we live in hope!
