James Bond fans might find themselves holding on to their seats, and feeling both shaken and stirred, because Skyfall is set to be made in stunning IMAX quality before being released in cinemas across the world.
Sam Mendes’ Skyfall will be the first James Bond film to be made in IMAX format, allowing the audience to really feel like part of the film as they experience the crystal clear images and powerful digital audio the cinema offers.
The much anticipated film will be a ‘cool, must-see event’ according to Sony.
Skyfall – which is due for an October release – marks the 50th Anniversary of the long-running Bond franchise.
The IMAX president, Greg Foster thinks that James Bond‘s ‘iconic characters and electrifying action will only be amplified in the IMAX format.’
Mendes (American Beauty, Jarhead) has released a 90-second video blog, which shows special behind-the-scenes clips from the upcoming film.
The plot is being kept tightly under wraps; all we know is that M’s past comes back to haunt her after which Bond’s loyalty to her is severely tested. MI6 then comes under attack and Bond’s mission is to track down and destroy the threat, disregarding the personal cost.
