He has recently blasted into our cinemas as Jack in the action-packed adventure Oblivion, but now it has been revealed that Tom Cruise has officially signed up for Mission: Impossible 5.
Famed for his countless death-defying stunts in the series, Cruise is set to return as special agent Ethan Hunt, following the huge success of Brad Bird’s M.I.4 – Ghost Protocol which pulled in more than $600m worldwide.
According to Deadline, screenwriter-turned-director Christopher McQuarrie (Jack Reacher) and Bruce Geller (Mannix) are set to pen the fifth Mission: Impossible movie.
The highspeed, adventure-thriller will feature Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton and Ving Rhames according to IMDB.
Few details have been revealed about M:I.5, but we can predict that it will revolve around daredevil special agent Hunt, who is assigned a deadly and dangerous mission by the Impossible Missions Force.
In other Tom Cruise news, it has also been reported by Deadline that there will be a sequel to McQuarrie’s Golden Trailer-nominated film, Jack Reacher. The big-screen adaptation of Lee Child’s book starred Cruise and took in $216m worldwide.
