Vanilla Ice to be in Adam Sandler comedy

King of cool (well, not really) Vanilla Ice has been signed up to star in a comedy with Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester.

This isn’t Ice’s first foray into films, oh no, the rap star wrote a song for and had a cameo in, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze, which you may have seen. He also starred in the not-worth-mentioning Rebel Without A Cause remake, Cool as Ice.

But now, after a making a slight comeback with Jedward (ahem), he is returning to the big screen for the upcoming Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg comedy, I Hate You, Dad.

Don’t panic though, he’s just got a supporting role. The film tells the story of a father (Sandler) who moves in with his son (Samberg) and his son’s fiancĂ© (Meester). Unfortunately father and soon-to-be daughter-in-law just can’t get along and things get a little crazy.

It sounds a little like Meet the Parents doesn’t it? Anyway, James Caan has also joined the cast and is playing Meester’s father. What do you think? Excited to see Mr Ice Ice Baby melt the screen?
