Warp Films fans are about to get a big treat in the form of a lovely-looking book & DVD collection.
For those who aren’t familiar with Warp Films, they’re an independent, UK-based production company who formed out of Warp Records with the initial intention of producing short films. That then evolved into later production work on full-length features, such as the renowned Four Lions, a film about four inept would-be suicide bombers. They’ve also worked on Tyrannosaur and Submarine, in case you weren’t finding them impressive enough already.
As for the boxset, it’s a combo of DVD and book content, with the book featuring behind-the-scenes photos and unreleased archive materials from the last ten years of Warp Films projects. That’s a considerable amount of reading. (Finish writing the article first, you can order it later, Tosan.)
There are also ten DVDs containing key Warp Films productions: Dead Man’s Shoes, This is England, All Tomorrow’s Parties, Le Donk & Scor-zay-zee, Bunny and the Bull, Four Lions, Submarine, Tyrannosaur, Kill List and Snowtown.
Now, be quick, because there are only one production run, and the first thousand are going to be hand-numbered & signed by Warp Films’ Mark Herbert (producer of This is England, Four Lions, Submarine and The Stone Roses: Made of Stone).
You can order the collection here. I may do the same.
