Are you expecting? Do you want to feel better about your pregnancy? Yes? Then for goodness sake don’t watch the trailer for What To Expect When You’re Expecting.
This film is based on the pregnancy guide written by Heidi Murkoff and looks as though it will be suitably entertaining/scary depending on your disposition towards having babies. The trailer starts with Elizabeth Banks standing up in front of an audience, basically saying that making a human being is the hardest thing ever, and that she wants to punch her husband. Aww, the miracle of life is great isn’t it? Joining Banks in the nearly-yummy-mummy brigade is Cameron Diaz, Anna Kendrick (Twilight: New Moon), model/actress Brooklyn Decker and Jennifer Lopez whose character is going to adopt with her husband.
There will no doubt be some laughs, cringe-worthy moments and heart-warming scenes, however this is a film that is definitely more likely to appeal to women than to men. The male cast, blundering through their responsibilities, includes Dennis Quaid (The Day After Tomorrow, Vantage Point), Joe Magniello (Behind Enemy Lines: Columbia, Spider-Man), comedian Chris Rock, Rodrigo Santoro (300) and Gossip Girl’s Chace Crawford.
You can check out the new posters below, showing the mums-to-be clutching their baby-bumps. So if you ever wondered what Cameron Diaz would look like pregnant, you don’t have to wonder any more. What To Expect When You’re Expecting is directed by Kirk Jones and will be released on 18th May, 2012, so get ready for lots of baby talk, and no doubt just as much complaining.
